About this role
- Responsible for all electrical systems in the solar PV plant to ensure compliance with regulations and enhance system health.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on solar PV systems, including DC and LV components and connections.
- Attend to electrical breakdowns related to solar PV systems, initiating fault diagnosis and corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain proper documentation and records through the provided channels for all corrective and preventive maintenance.
- Supervise and monitor any work related to the solar PV system performed by appointed contractors.
- Provide inspection reports, preventive maintenance reports, and any product warranty claim reports, including for inverters, PV modules, data loggers, etc.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual operating reports detailing information about electricity production, efficiency, availability, maintenance performed, outages, inspection results, manufacturer-recommended services, replacements, control settings, and adjustments of equipment and protective devices.
- Liaise with government authorities such as the Energy Commission (ST), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), and Visiting Electrical Consultants on all solar PV system-related issues.
- Responsible for submitting the Plant Performance Report to the Energy Commission (OAS System) on a monthly basis.
- Manage, maintain, and sustain the spare parts and tools inventory.
- Support and assist the project execution team during the installation phase of the solar PV system.
- Support and participate in other O&M-related work for Residential, Commercial & Industrial, and Large-Scale Solar projects as directed by the Engineer.
Requirements
- Possess 1 year of working experience in an environment involving the operation and control of low-voltage electrical equipment.
- Possess sufficient knowledge and skills in wiring for LV installations.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical theory and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Possess sufficient knowledge of the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and its regulations.
- Possess a valid A0/A1/PW2/PW4 certificate from the Energy Commission (ST).
- Certification as an Electrical Supervisor by the Energy Commission (ST) is an added advantage.
- Proficient in computer literacy.
- Customer-oriented, independent, and possess good interpersonal skills.
- Possess a valid D and GDL driving license and be willing to be based in Penang.
- Good communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English (verbally and in writing).
- Physically and mentally strong and fit.
- Comfortable working on weekends and public holidays if required.
