Job Duties and Preferred Qualifications:
Public Facilities is currently hiring an Operations Coordinator within the Office of Public Facilities. This position provides day to day operational leadership and coordination for assigned building maintenance operations, which may include carpentry, paint, custodial services, HVAC/mechanical, electrical/integrated systems, plumbing/aquatics, and vector control. The Operations Coordinator works closely with supervisors and skilled trades staff to ensure maintenance services are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established priorities.
Duties include:
- Provide daily and weekly operational direction, establish work priorities, and coordinate the deployment of personnel and resources based on workload, service needs, staffing, and emergencies.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair activities involving multiple trades and work with other Maintenance and Operations functions when cross functional support is needed.
- Monitor work order backlogs, scheduling, preventive maintenance, response times, productivity, and work quality to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
- Coordinate emergency maintenance response, shutdowns, outages, building access, and other activities necessary to minimize disruptions to City operations.
- Balance workloads and resources among assigned maintenance operations and adjust priorities in response to changing operational needs.
- Provide direction, coaching, and accountability to assigned supervisors and address routine operational and service-delivery concerns.
- Oversee the operational implementation of assigned service, maintenance, and construction contracts and monitor contractor performance.
- Monitor field activities for compliance with safety requirements, operating procedures, applicable codes, and departmental expectations.
- Serve as the first level of operational resolution for customer-service concerns and coordinate with Facilities Liaisons and other staff regarding facility needs, priorities, and service issues.
- Review CMMS information and operational data to evaluate workload and performance; assist with operational planning and make recommendations regarding overtime, expenditures, staffing resources, equipment, and other operational needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: Requires any combination of education (above high school) and/or eight (8) years of experience in fields providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities and associated with such positions as Project Coordinator, Assistant Project Administrator, Assistant Administrative Officer, or Assistant Superintendent of Buildings. Must have a current and valid driver’s license. Special Requirements: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. This position may require that incumbents wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, or other designated safety attire and equipment in designated areas of risk. Specific requirements will be determined and communicated by the employee’s supervisor based on position assigned.Skills:
