The orchestra is growing. We need the conductor.
Sales have played the opening notes.
Installers are ready to perform.
Clients are waiting for a smooth performance.
Materials need to arrive on cue.
Vehicles need to be in the right place.
Schedules need rhythm.
And every job needs to finish on the right note.
Somewhere in the middle of all that, someone needs to keep the whole operation in time.
That’s this role.
SmartGrass is looking for an Operations Coordinator who can bring structure, calm, pace, and common sense to a busy growing operation.
Not someone who waits for the sheet music to be handed to them.
Someone who can read the room, hear the off-beat before anyone else does, and bring the whole section back into rhythm before it turns into noise.
About the Role
The Operations Coordinator is the conductor of SmartGrass operations.
You’ll own the process from sale handover through to job completion and final close-off.
That means planning jobs properly, aligning resources, supporting installers, keeping clients updated, ordering materials, managing schedules, and making sure nothing misses its cue.
You’ll sit between sales, installers, suppliers, and clients — bringing clarity, calm, timing, and follow-through.
Who We Are
SmartGrass is a leading artificial grass specialist delivering high-quality residential, commercial, and sports installations across New Zealand.
We’re a growing business in a growing industry, backed by modern systems, good tech, strong installation teams, and people who care about doing things properly.
Our Sales Consultants design and sell complete artificial grass solutions.
Once a project is sold, it moves into Operations.
That’s where you come in.
Operations takes the promise and turns it into delivery — coordinating the people, materials, timing, clients, installers, suppliers, and final close-out so every job lands cleanly.
Because a great performance is not just about one person playing well.
It’s about everyone coming in at the right time.
This Role Is For You If:
Things run better when you’re involved.
You already use AI in your work, or you’re genuinely keen to. It’s built into how we operate, and this role won’t suit someone who would rather not.
You naturally bring rhythm to messy moving parts.
You’re highly organised without being robotic.
You can stay calm when six things need attention at once.
You’re good with people, but not afraid of direct conversations.
You like seeing jobs through to the final note.
You care about clients, installers, and the quality of the outcome.
You can think ahead, spot issues early, and make sensible decisions.
You’re confident using systems, spreadsheets, job notes, and schedules.
You want a role with natural progression in a growing business.
One Last Thing
We’re not looking for someone to sit quietly in the back row.
We’re looking for the person who can stand in the middle of a moving operation, hear what’s out of rhythm, and bring it back into time.
Someone who knows when to lift the tempo, when to slow things down, and when to stop the noise before it becomes a problem.
If that sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you.
In your application, tell us about a time you had to coordinate a lot of moving parts — and what you did to keep everything on track.
Apply now.
P.S. If this isn’t you, send it to the most organised person you know. The one who knows who’s late, what’s missing, and which section is about to come in at the wrong time before anyone else has noticed.
