Operations Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

The Operations Systems Engineer provides technical and operational support for Test and Evaluation (T&E) activities conducted at remote locations, shore facilities, and aboard ships. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and executing at-sea and field test operations; conducting system installations, dockside grooms, checkout procedures, and verification testing; troubleshooting hardware, software, and system deficiencies; and developing corrective action recommendations for Government review. The engineer supports installation planning by assessing site requirements, preparing installation plans, schedules, and technical documentation, and ensuring all equipment, utilities, and resources are available to support testing activities. Additional duties include collecting and analyzing operational and acoustic telemetry data, executing formal test procedures, preparing At-Sea Test Plans and Reports, documenting test results, generating engineering change proposals (ECPs), and supporting system certification, acceptance testing, and operational readiness activities. Frequent travel and embarkation aboard vessels may be required to support installations, testing, maintenance, and system recovery operations.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience embarking on ships while meeting all medical/safety readiness requirements.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience executing formal at-sea test procedures, writing At-Sea Test Plans/Reports, and conducting dockside grooms.

Desired Experience:

• Eight (8) or more years of experience with at-sea multi-target tracking scenarios and undersea range concepts.
• Five (5) years of demonstrated, hands-on data analysis experience with tactical system and acoustic telemetry data.

Security Clearance: Requires U.S. Citizenship and an active government security clearance.
