Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Perform cylindrical grinding of carbide and steel cutting tools as per specifications.
- Set up and operate grinding machines independently.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Conduct in-process inspections and maintain production records.
- Follow safety and quality procedures at all times.
- Perform wheel dressing and basic machine adjustments to maintain grinding performance.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.
- Monitor machine performance and report any abnormalities or maintenance requirements.
- Maintain workplace cleanliness and follow 5S practices in the production area.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and improve productivity.
Profile & Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cylindrical grinding operations.
- Strong hands-on experience in grinding of carbide and steel cutting tools.
- Good knowledge of cylindrical grinding machines, wheel selection, and machine setup.
- Ability to achieve close tolerances and maintain high-quality surface finishes.
- Experience in inspecting components using measuring instruments such as micrometres, verniers, and dial gauges.
- Understanding of cutting tool manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and process specifications.
- Knowledge of safety practices and machine maintenance.
