Position: Part-time Outreach Specialist

Hours: Flexible scheduling with Day, Afternoon, and Weekend hours

Salary: $15.00 per hour

Requirements: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, TB test, High school diploma or GED, Must pass MDHHS background check

This Program of Wings provides assistance and referrals to youth 9-21 who are in crisis. This position is up to 59 hours every two weeks, scheduling is based on events that are planned in advance, Typical shifts are 4-8 hours and are double staffed going out into the local communities and providing resources to youth in need. Normal shifts may start as early as 8 am and end as late as 9 pm. The work environment includes in-office and outdoor events year-round. Some evenings and weekends are required.


Typical Client Related Responsibilities Include:


  • Completion of client intake and required paperwork
  • Shift Documentation
  • Assist clients with applications for resources, school, or employment
  • Assist clients in obtaining their personal documentation
  • Provide clients with referrals to community resources and advocate for clients to community partners
  • Assist clients with life skill activities and schoolwork.
    Provide clients with needed items like food, hygiene, and household supplies
  • Answer crisis calls and provide necessary crisis intervention.
  • Assist youth in the transition to shelter services or returning home.
  • Complete Routes to local communities to provide resources and information.
  • Work closely with and develop a respectful relationship with community partners
  • Participate in outreach events. Examples but not limited to: parades, 4 H Fair, Festivals, family night, school outreaches, backpack giveaways, pop-up events, walking local paths, entering homeless encampments, Dome Day, etc.
  • Complete staff trainings in a timely manner, participate in staff meetings and supervisions
  • Complete Daily schedule of required staff duties and ensure building is clean
  • Assist in the compliance of all federal, state, and local licensing requirements and health and fire regulations to ensure that the premises are safe, clean, and secure.
  • Follow through on direct requests from supervisors
  • Perform other duties as directed to allow the program to function at its maximum level
  • Additional duties assigned by program manager as needed
