Our client in the agricultural sector is looking to appoint a motivated Packhouse Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day management of packhouse operations. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the **coordination and supervision of daily packhouse activities **, including managing staff and workflow
- Maintain strong operational oversight to ensure consistent product quality and accurate packhouse processes and documentation
- Monitor and manage **packaging material stock levels **, ensuring timely replenishment
- Support the development and implementation of best practice operational procedures
- Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety within the packhouse
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and quality assurance standards
- Ensure all products meet required specifications for both local and export markets

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Previous supervisory or management experience will be advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good numerical ability and planning skills
- Self-motivated, disciplined and able to work effectively within a team
- High levels of integrity and reliability
- Ability to work independently while meeting operational targets and deadlines
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required
- Exposure to food safety or quality systems such as HACCP, BRC or similar would be beneficial
- Experience in a soft fruit or labour-intensive packhouse environment will be advantageous
- Own reliable transport is required
- Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment
