Position Summary
The Painter is responsible for preparing and painting a variety of interior and exterior surfaces on commercial and public works construction projects. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality finishes, works safely, and collaborates effectively with project teams to meet project schedules.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming.
- Apply paints, stains, sealers, epoxy coatings, and specialty coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Paint drywall, concrete, masonry, steel, wood, and other construction materials.
- Mask and protect adjacent surfaces prior to painting.
- Perform touch-ups and final finish work to meet project quality standards.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies.
- Coordinate with superintendents and other trades to maintain project schedules.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial or public works painting experience preferred.
- Experience with interior and exterior commercial painting.
- Familiarity with epoxy, industrial, and specialty coatings is a plus.
- Ability to safely operate airless spray equipment and other painting tools.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites throughout the Bay Area.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid California driver's license preferred.
