JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) employee to join our team at the Oceana Commissary.

This position plays an important role in ensuring daily operations meet required quality, productivity, and contract standards. The Quality Control employee will monitor workflow, perform inspections, complete required documentation, communicate with DeCA representatives, and assist with administrative functions.

The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working independently, confident communicating with employees and management, and willing to step in when necessary to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.

SCHEDULE & PAY

• $24.89 per hour
• Part-time position
• 4:00 AM start time
• Shifts are approximately 4–6 hours
• Shift length may vary depending on workload and operational needs

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to accurately complete reports and administrative paperwork
• Must be able to pass a Department of Defense (DoD) background check and obtain access to Oceana Naval Air Station
• Must be dependable and able to consistently report for a 4:00 AM shift
• Reliable transportation and regular attendance are required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Observe daily workflow to ensure production and quality standards are being met
• Ensure required job functions are completed within established timeframes
• Perform Quality Control inspections and document findings
• Ensure corrective actions are completed when deficiencies are identified
• Communicate with DeCA representatives and act as a liaison when necessary
• Maintain accurate QC documentation and required reports
• Assist with attendance records, payroll updates, and new-hire paperwork
• Review employee time and payroll information for accuracy
• Complete required end-of-day office functions
• Submit required daily paperwork and documentation
• Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, contract requirements, and applicable laws
• Work closely with management and employees to maintain efficient operations and quality standards
• Lead by example and assist the team as needed to ensure required work is completed
