Part Time - STEM - Summer Camp Instructor

Penn State Abington seeks to hire part-time Youth Program instructors for grades K-12 from June 2027 through August 2027. Topics to be taught include STEM programming, arts, writing, leadership and soft skills, wellness, and others.

Job Duties

• Instructors are responsible for assisting with creating and implementing program curriculum and lessons, managing supplies, and the supervision of minors participating in programs.

• Instructors must work collaboratively with the Youth Program Director, Student counselors, and Continuing Education staff to create an inviting, enjoyable and educational environment for students.

• Attend team meetings as expected by Youth Program Director.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills are required.

• Must be outgoing, work well with children, have strong customer service skills, and be a self-starter.

• For most openings, an advanced degree in an appropriate discipline, from an accredited institution, is required.

• Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.

• Summer instructors are needed for daytime in-person programming from Monday through ThursdayJune 28 through August 12 2027, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additionally, are required to attend a one-day, in-person staff orientation at Penn State Abington, scheduled betweenJune 21st and June 25th, prior to the start of the campsessions. Shouldthere be any conflicts during this time frame, we can address them further during the interview.

Scope of youth programs are dependent on course content and vary in length. Multiple vacancies are available for various programs. ​Employment is also contingent upon adequate student enrollment in the Youth Programs.
