Job Brief:

Exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and progressive company in search of a reliablePAT Tester to carry out Portable Appliance Testing across a range of client sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and certifying electrical equipment to ensure compliance with current safety regulations, playing a vital role in ensuring the seamless delivery of our services.





Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on a wide range of electrical equipment
  • Visually inspect appliances for damage, wear, or safety issues
  • Accurately test equipment using approved testing instruments
  • Label tested equipment and record results clearly and correctly
  • Complete test reports and certification in line with company and legal requirements
  • Identify and report any failed or unsafe equipment to clients
  • Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration is up to date
  • Adhere to health & safety procedures at all times
  • Provide a professional and courteous service when dealing with clients





Requirements & Qualifications:

  • PAT Testing qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Basic IT skills (for reporting and certification)
  • Full UK driving licence





Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in PAT testing or electrical work
  • Knowledge of IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing
  • Experience working in commercial, industrial, or domestic environments
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organised
  • Responsible and accountable
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good paperwork and documentation skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Ability to adapt to various environments with varying clients’ needs
  • Experience with risk assessments and safe working practise
