Opening in April 2026, the Alan B. Miller Medical Center will be a state-of-the-art hospital serving the Palm Beach Gardens and surrounding South Florida communities. Named in honor of the Founder and Executive Chairman of Universal Health Services (UHS), the facility is designed to provide advanced medical care, modern technology, and a collaborative clinical environment. The hospital’s Pathology Department is expanding to support a comprehensive range of diagnostic and consultative services in this new, cutting-edge facility.
Key Responsibilities
The Alan B. Miller Medical Center is seeking Anatomic & Clinical Pathologists for full-time and part-time opportunities within our hospital-based pathology service. These positions offer the opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing team in a modern clinical setting with advanced laboratory and diagnostic resources. Full-time roles include participation in a shared call schedule. Part-time and contract roles offer flexible scheduling based on availability and departmental needs.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Examine and evaluate surgical pathology specimens with diagnostic precision
- Independently perform frozen sections and assess specimen adequacy for cytology
- Manage a diverse daily caseload (full-time typically 30–35 cases per day) across breast (core biopsies and excisions)
- Thoracic pathology
- GU, GI, neuro, limited head & neck
- Non-neoplastic and limited neoplastic GYN
- Limited hematopathology
- Cytology: thyroid, lung EBUS, GI EBUS
- Provide timely, accurate pathology reports to referring physicians
- Collaborate effectively with laboratory staff and multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Participate in Breast and Lung Tumor Boards (held three times monthly)
- Maintain compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
- Support ongoing departmental quality improvement and peer review processes
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certification in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology
- Fellowship training in general or subspecialty anatomic pathology is required
- Active Florida medical license (or eligibility)
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience preferred (full-time roles)
- Strong diagnostic and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
- No autopsy responsibilities
- Grossing performed by certified Pathologist Assistants
Compensation
- Salary Range: $300,000 – $350,000 annually
- Compensation varies based on experience, licensure, and employment structure
