Pathology Assistant- Part-Time/Per Diem

Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens• Accurately describe, document, and submit tissue sections for histologic processing• Assist in the preparation and execution of autopsies when applicable• Photograph specimens and maintain accurate specimen records• Ensure quality control and compliance with all regulatory and institutional policies• Communicate effectively with pathologists, histotechnologists, and clinical staff• Support pathology workflow management and case prioritization during high-volume periods

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a life science field required• Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program (Master’s level preferred)• Certification or certification-eligible through ASCP as PA(ASCP)• Prior experience in a surgical pathology setting preferred• Strong anatomical knowledge and specimen handling skills• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management• Proficient in laboratory information systems and grossing protocols

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation range is $65 - $85. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure
