Payroll Coordinator

About the role

Please note that this is a temporary contract position, expected to last approximately three to four months, to provide coverage during a leave of absence.

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing the company’s payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, and maintaining accurate employee records. This role involves managing payroll data, calculating wages, deductions, and bonuses, and handling payroll discrepancies.

What you'll do

• Prepare and processaccuratepayroll for employees on a bi-weekly basis

• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes to compensation, benefits, and deductions

• Calculate wages, deductions, bonuses, commissions, and profitsharing. Ensuringall are in line with company policies and tax regulations

• Ensure payroll is processed on time and distributed correctly via direct deposit

• Communicate tax updates with payroll provider andassistin resolving filing discrepancies

• Assistwith the processing of 1099’s

• Ensure that the payroll system is kept up todateand that records areaccurate

• Address employee payroll questions, concerns, and issuesin a timely manner

• Provide supportregardingdeductions, wage adjustments, andbenefitsinquiries

• Post Payroll Journal Entries and reconcile payroll accounts to ensure all payroll expenses are correctly recorded

• Prepare regular and ad-hoc payroll-related reports for management

• Assistin audits and provide required documentation for internal and external audits

• Maintaina high levelof confidentiality with all payroll information and employee data

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Strongproficiencyin Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge of payroll software

• Highly organized witha keenattention to detail

• Ability tomaintainconfidentiality

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Demonstrated ability toestablishand maintain professional relationships with vendors and internal teams

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or similar professional certification (optional but preferred
