The PCA/MA Trainee is an entry-level clinical support team member who participates in a structured MA training program to develop the knowledge, technical skills, and professional behaviors needed to provide safe, high-quality patient care while working as a PCA in the clinic. Under the direction and supervision of qualified clinical staff, the trainee learns to support patient intake and rooming, obtain and document vital signs, prepare examination rooms, assist with basic clinical and administrative tasks, maintain supplies and equipment, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the care team Responsible for assisting the clinical team in completion of patient care activities. Demonstrates strong communication skills, accepts delegated tasks and has the knowledge and understanding to ask questions and report patient information as indicated. The PCA promotes a patient and family experience-oriented environment and acts as a change agent to meet the rapidly changing census and needs of all customers-both internal and external. The PCA measures and records vital signs, assists with clinic flow and supports the clinical and clerical roles in the clinic.Upon successful completion of an MA program, the trainee is expected to be prepared to perform the responsibilities of a Medical Assistant (MA) in accordance with organizational policies and applicable scope-of-practice requirements.

- HSD/GED is required
Experience:
- PCA / MA training or experience or actively enrolled in a health care related education program is required
- 1-2 years STNA experience in hospital setting is preferred
Certification/Licensure:
- CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date
