A growing Pediatric Ophthalmology program in ** Eastern North Carolina** is seeking a ** mission-driven, visionary Pediatric Ophthalmologist** to join and help advance a developing academic division. The medical center serves as a **tertiary referral center **, managing a high volume of complex ophthalmic conditions. The ophthalmology service continues to expand across subspecialties and has received ** ACGME approval to launch a new Ophthalmology residency **, with the inaugural class beginning in ** summer 2026 **. The program benefits from a strong hospital-based referral network and community referrals in a region with limited subspecialty coverage.

Requirements

Education & Training

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology Residency program
• Completion of an accredited Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship

Certification & Licensure

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
• Fellowship-trained in Pediatric Ophthalmology
• Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted North Carolina medical license
• Eligible for hospital privileges
