The People Generalist – Vietnam exists to support and scale Gravity Global’s people experience in Vietnam as the business grows, ensuring local delivery is aligned with the wider Global People team and business priorities. This role owns day-to-day HR operations for around 70 employees, supports managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle, and helps embed global processes, policies, and initiatives in a way that feels clear, practical, and relevant locally.

It is a hands-on, people-facing role that combines strong HR foundations, local employment law knowledge, and a focus on employee experience, accuracy, and compliance. The role also acts as a key communication bridge between Vietnam and global teams, including translating and tailoring People communications in English and Vietnamese.

Key Responsibilities

HR Advisory & Support
  • Provide clear, practical, and people-focused HR guidance to managers and employees on day-to-day matters, including onboarding, performance, wellbeing, and ways of working.
  • Support employee relations processes, ensuring issues are handled consistently, fairly, and in line with company policy and local law.
  • Build trusted relationships with local leaders, managers, and employees, becoming a go-to partner for people matters in Vietnam.
  • Feed local insight, trends, and employee feedback into Global People discussions and projects to help shape solutions that work effectively in market.
People Operations
  • Own end-to-end HR operations in Vietnam, including onboarding, lifecycle changes, promotions, and offboarding, ensuring a joined-up and positive employee experience.
  • Ensure all people processes, documentation, and records are accurate, compliant, secure, and audit-ready, while using data to identify improvements.
  • Deliver responsive, friendly, and solutions-focused support to employee and manager queries, helping teams navigate policies and processes with confidence.
  • Simplify, modernise, and standardise HR processes in line with global practices while retaining local relevance and practicality.
Employment Law & Risk Management
  • Apply Vietnam employment law and the Labour Code to day-to-day people matters, translating legal requirements into practical guidance for managers and employees.
  • Ensure hiring, contracts, working practices, and employee relations activity remain compliant with local regulation and group policy.
  • Identify risks early, recommend balanced and people-first solutions, and escalate appropriately where needed.
  • Build manager capability by explaining legal and policy requirements clearly and using practical examples that support understanding and consistency.
People Infrastructure & Localisation
  • Help build and evolve a strong, scalable HR foundation in Vietnam, including contracts, policies, templates, and handbook content.
  • Localise global People policies and materials so they are legally compliant, culturally relevant, and easy for employees and managers to understand.
  • Plan and deliver clear and engaging rollouts of new policies and processes, working closely with managers and the Global People team to support adoption.
Global Collaboration & Delivery
  • Contribute as an active member of the Global People team, supporting cross-market initiatives across areas such as performance, reward, engagement, wellbeing, and systems.
  • Partner with global colleagues to adapt and land key initiatives successfully in Vietnam, ensuring they reflect local needs and realities.
  • Share ideas, best practice, and lessons learned from Vietnam to help shape and strengthen Gravity’s broader People approach.
  • Participate in global working groups, sprints, and experiments, bringing a Vietnam perspective to future-focused People initiatives.
Communication & Translation
  • Act as a communication bridge between global and Vietnam teams, ensuring People messages are clear, timely, and tailored to the audience.
  • Translate People documentation and communications between English and Vietnamese, maintaining clarity, accuracy, and intent.
  • Support campaigns and materials that build understanding and engagement around global People initiatives in Vietnam, including town halls, FAQs, manager packs, and toolkits.
Due Diligence & Stakeholder Support
  • Support HR due diligence activity, including acquisitions, new services, and structural changes, by providing accurate and well-organised information at pace.
  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, external partners, and the UK People Manager to ensure joined-up and compliant People delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of a scalable, sustainable, and collaborative People function in Vietnam that can grow with the business.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of Vietnam employment law and HR compliance, with the ability to apply it in a pragmatic and people-centred way.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in both English and Vietnamese, with the ability to adapt style for different audiences and cultures, including senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to distil complex information into clear, practical guidance for managers and employees.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the confidence to work across teams, time zones, and levels of seniority.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, reprioritise when needed, and stay calm under pressure.
Desirables
  • Experience in a professional services, marketing, or global agency environment.
  • Familiarity with HiBob and or other global HR technology platforms.
