Pharmacy Technician Inpatient

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a Pharmacist and accountable to the Pharmacy Director, assists the department in the procurement, packaging, distribution, and control of medication to the patients
• Receives and stocks medications
• Prepares unit dose, bulk, and intravenous medications for dispensing
• Pre-packages non-unit dose medications
• Checks Pyxis inventory and refills medications in Pyxis units
• Provides delivery of doses
• Prepares IV Admixtures
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of patients' right to confidentiality

Qualifications

• Must have basic math skills
• National certification preferred or must be completed within one year
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
