Photographer

Proximity places a strong emphasis on the ability of design to inspire, inform and transform lives. In this role, you will join our in-house creative studio and contribute photography that engages local and international audiences, connects us with customers, and strengthens our brand across donor- and farmer-facing platforms. You’ll combine your passion for visual storytelling with your drive to improve the lives of rural families, producing dynamic photography projects at our Head Office and in the field.

Once You’re Here, You Will

• Work closely with designers, marketing, donor relations and business development to deliver photography that strengthens our brands and shares authentic farmer stories.
• Build and maintain Proximity’s image bank, ensuring products, services, campaigns and events are consistently represented with current, high-quality photography.
• Produce campaign-specific and donor-facing photography, including one week per month in the field to capture authentic farmer stories and documentary images.
• Plan and manage shoots from start to finish, preparing briefs, shot lists and schedules; coordinating logistics with teams; and delivering final images that meet expectations and deadlines.
• Retouch and color-correct images to maintain a consistent brand look and feel across all platforms.
  Share basic techniques with colleagues to help them improve the quality of images captured on their own devices.
• Manage photography equipment and software, recommending updates or investments to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Must Haves

• Experience in documentary, product and/or portrait photography, with strong skills in Lightroom and Photoshop.
• Knowledge of photoshoot planning and logistics.
• Able to pitch and deliver projects independently, from concept to final output.
• Strong communicator in Myanmar language with excellent interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with colleagues and engage with farmers in the field.
• Reliable, proactive, detail- and quality-oriented.
• Willingness to travel regularly (around one week per month, sometimes at short notice).
  
• An eye for a shot, an ear for a story.

Added Bonus

• Experience with videography and video editing in After Effects or Premiere Pro
• Experience working with Myanmar farmers or rural communities
• Experience or expertise in the social enterprise or development sectors
• Experience or expertise in agriculture or climate change
