Photonics Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Research & Development: gather requirements, discuss solutions with cross-functional teams, define clear specifications, coordinate or conduct the implementation into software, perform comprehensive testing, and create documentation and demos.

• Customer Engagement: collaborate with key customers and partners to enable their success, understand their needs, drive adoption, address their challenges, and further enhance our products and solutions.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have strong expertise in photonic IC design and simulation.

• Master’s or PhD degree in electrical engineering, physics, or similar fields

• 3+ years in designing photonic ICs, through full design cycles (simulation, layout, tape-out, and measurement)

• Experience in photonic circuit simulation, and ideally electronic-photonic co-simulation

• Experience in photonic compact modeling, preferably using Verilog-A

• Experience in photonic device simulation and parameter extraction

• Understanding of numerical simulation methods

• Familiarity with electronic/photonic design automation (tools and workflows)

• Programming in C++, Python, SKILL, etc.

• Experience working with foundries, using or developing PDKs / custom libraries is a strong plus

• Good communications skills and ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams
