Polypipe is seeking an experienced and hands-on Plant Manager to lead operations at one of our key manufacturing sites. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, safety, and performance across a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
As Plant Manager, you will take full ownership of end-to-end site operations, ensuring production targets are consistently achieved while maintaining the highest standards in safety, quality, and efficiency. You’ll lead a capable operational team, build strong routines across shifts, and continuously drive improvements in productivity, waste reduction, and overall plant performance.
This role requires a strong operational leader who thrives in continuous manufacturing environments and brings a proven track record of delivering results in 24/7 production settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all plant operations across a 3-shift, 7-day production schedule
- Ensure safe, consistent, and efficient manufacturing output in line with production targets
- Drive a strong safety culture with zero harm as a core priority
- Oversee production planning, scheduling, and workforce coordination across shifts
- Lead, coach, and develop shift supervisors and operational teams to achieve high performance
- Monitor key performance indicators including output, quality, downtime, and yield
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, waste reduction, efficiency gains)
- Coordinate maintenance activities to minimise downtime and improve plant reliability
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality standards
- Partner with supply chain, engineering, and leadership teams to support business objectives
About You
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Plant Manager in a PE and/or PVC manufacturing environment
- Strong background in continuous or high-volume manufacturing operations
- Proven experience managing 24/7 operations with multi-shift production teams
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing supervisors and large teams
- Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, plant reliability, and operational KPIs
- Experience driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and performance standards
