In this role, you are responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of a production facility, as well as planning, controlling, and optimizing processes, resources, and costs. You work closely with technical and support functions to maintain stable operations and drive continuous improvements in processes, equipment, and organization. In addition, you lead and develop employees and take responsibility for capacity planning, budgeting, and investment activities. The role requires a technical degree, several years of experience in chemical production, and strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage all aspects of Catalyst Plant operations by leading managers responsible for Precious Metal Catalysts (PMC), Continuous Process Catalysts (CPC), and Supply Chain Management (SCM) at the Calvert City site.
• Ensure safe, cost-effective, and environmentally compliant plant operations while driving continuous improvement.
• Develop and manage the plant budget, controlling costs to meet financial targets.
• Plan and manage workforce resources to ensure adequate staffing and capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 9001, RC 14001, and ISO 50001 requirements.
• Develop and communicate production plans, ensuring required materials, resources, and QC support are available.
• Establish and maintain operating parameters and guidelines to support safe and environmentally sound operations.
• Support safety reviews, hazard analyses, and grievance resolution.
• Foster employee engagement, trust, accountability, and alignment with Evonik values.
• Maintain clear communication with internal and external customers to support operational goals and customer satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of production experience, preferably in chemical operations.
• 5+ years of leadership or management experience.
• Experience working in a union environment preferred.
• OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) experience preferred.
• Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 standards preferred.
• SAP experience is a plus.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
