KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Minor Hotels employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
• To look after guest safety, and address any guest issues as quickly as possible, ensuring that they are completely happy with the work done.
• To complete activities on the preventive maintenance schedule as specified in hotel plans.
• Control power-generating equipment and water plant in throughout day.
• Read charts, meters, and gauges to monitor voltage and electricity flows and water production.
• Check equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems
• Adjust controls to regulate the flow of power
• Start or stop generators, RO pant and treatment plant, and other equipment as necessary
• Keep generator, lighting, and electrical systems in working order.
• Diagnose problems and then repair/replace defective parts of the generators and Ro machinery
• Need to act quickly when a breakdown occurs.
• Must be able to tell management whether the problem can be corrected and whether business can continue as usual.
• Make periodic inspection for all power house and water plant machineries.
• Maintains records and logs as needed.
• Collect water meter and kwh meter readings and monitor daily consumption.
• Provides guidance and direction to less experienced personnel and others assigned to his/her position. Perform other various tasks as instructed by management.
• Attend to the guest complain during night duty when night duty electrician off.
• Control and maintain auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feed water pumps, filters, and chlorinators, to supply water, fuel, lubricants, air and etc.
• Monitor and Control generator output to match the phase, frequency, and voltage of electricity supplied to panels.
• Make adjustments or minor repairs, such as tightening leaking gland and pipe joints; report any needs for major repairs.
• Monitor and inspect power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems.
• Open and close valves and switches in sequence upon signals from other workers, in order to start or shut down auxiliary units.
• Check and monitor standby emergency diesel generators on line in emergencies and monitor the temperature, output, and lubrication of the system of fire pump room. Start or stop generators, RO plant auxiliary pumping equipment, according to requirement
• Clean the power house and RO plant daily basis or and if necessary.
• Collect water, samples for laboratory analysis.
• Inspect records and log book entries, and communicate with other plant personnel, in order to assess equipment operating status.
• Receive outage calls and call in necessary personnel during power outages and emergencies.
• Record and compile operational data, completing and maintaining forms, logs, and reports. • Report & attend to fire alarm or emergencies as the occasion arises.
• Do the necessary routing maintenance and keep reports and records for future references.
• Maintain log boke properly and use to keep all duty to day operational points up to date.
• Other duties could include working in other areas of the maintenance department to provide support during absences or shortage of staff in other trades or to perform duties associated with light construction projects.
