JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Title: Plumbing Mechanic

Reports to: Plumbing Foreman

Department: Construction Division


Primary Purpose:

Perform high-quality plumbing installations in accordance with project specifications and plumbing codes, supporting the company’s mission to “Protect the Health of the Nation.”


Qualifications:


Certification:


Valid Maryland driver’s license

Valid Maryland Apprentice Plumber’s License (required)

Journeyman Plumber’s License (preferred)

Special Knowledge/Skills:


Proficiency in installing and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plumbing schematics

Knowledge of plumbing codes and standards

Familiarity with hand and power tools used in plumbing

Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations

Effective time management and organizational skills

Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Experience:


Minimum of 3 years of experience in plumbing installation, repair, or maintenance

Experience in new construction plumbing is highly preferred

Primary Duties:


Install plumbing systems, including piping, fixtures, and equipment, to meet project specifications and codes.

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plumbing systems and equipment.

Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting plumbing problems and making necessary repairs.

Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project requirements.

Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes and fittings using appropriate tools.

Collaborate with other trades to ensure seamless project execution and avoid conflicts.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and company guidelines.

Communicate progress, challenges, and material needs to the Plumbing Foreman.

Assist with quality control by ensuring work meets company standards and customer expectations.

Maintain proper inventory and care of assigned tools and equipment.

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
