As a Pre-K Staff member, you'll play an important role in creating engaging experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence while helping children build friendships and lifelong skills. Through play, exploration, and positive relationships, you'll help bring Camp Fire's Promise to life by giving every child the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are.


  • Pre-K Afterschool Program (August - May) Monday - Friday, 11:30am - 6:00pm
    Pay: $19.12/hour
    Location: Susitna Elementary


Position:

Pre-K Staff: Work between 32 - 35 hours per week (average), delivering quality programming and actively supervising preschool age youth.

6.5 hours daily of site time, up to 1 additional hours daily for activity planning, meetings and trainings (times vary)

  • Requirements –
    • Age requirement: 18 years-old.
    • Minimum of 6 months experience working with children in childcare, youth development, recreation, camps, or similar setting, required; preschool age preferred.
    • Ability to transport self to work and to the Camp Fire office for trainings required, ability to work at multiple sites preferred.
  • Preferred -
    • Child Development Associate Credential (CDA).
    • Knowledge of behavior management, activity facilitation, and ages and stages of youth development.


Required Certifications: (all paid for and provided by Camp Fire after hire):
Adult/Child/Infant CPR, AED & First Aid
Food Worker Card
Mandated Reporter training certificate
Health & Safety certificate
