About this role

Nuada is looking for a process operations engineer to join our expanding team! We have two pilot carbon capture plants currently operating in the UK. We require a process operations engineer to operate and help optimise plant performance under the supervision of our shift leads. This role will be based at existing plant sites. This will be a challenging yet rewarding role that will require a passion to drive things through to completion and work as part of a team developing the next generation of carbon capture technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver assigned operational tasks and priorities as directed by the Team Lead.
  • Provide deputy support to the Team Lead during periods of absence or increased operational demand.
  • Assist in maintaining stable plant operation in line with trial and operational schedules.
  • Support safe and reliable plant operations through routine monitoring and control of process systems.
  • Elaboration of process data to gain insights into process performance and support troubleshooting of operational issues.
  • Assist with identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across site activities.
  • Support the implementation of safe working practices.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with site safety standards and procedures.
  • Participate in commissioning, decommissioning, and other site readiness activities as required.
  • Act as a key point of contact for local site operational matters and cross-functional coordination.
  • Contribute to daily operational meetings and communicate relevant site updates effectively.
  • Support the management of site waste, housekeeping, and general workplace standards.
  • Assist in maintaining site compliance through coordination of routine inspections, checks, and calibrations.
  • Ensure operational documentation, records, and management of change processes are completed in line with site requirements.

Requirements

  • Willing to work daily shift pattern.
  • Prior experience in chemical plants is desirable.
  • Good mechanical competence.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, environment requiring flexibility and pragmatism.
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative as well as contribute within a team environment.
  • This position is not eligible for Skilled Workers visa sponsorship. Candidates must have the legal work right to work in the UK at the time of application.
