Job Introduction:

​Provides legal counsel on privacy, product development, and regulatory compliance, enabling Tekion to deliver innovative solutions while maintaining trust and meeting global legal obligations. Acts as a strategic partner to product, engineering, and business teams in building privacy-forward, legally compliant products and services. ​

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Advises on product design and implementation to ensure compliance with global privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and emerging regulations.

• ​Partners with Product and Engineering teams to embed privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default into product development lifecycles.

• ​Reviews and negotiates privacy-related provisions in commercial agreements, including data processing and cross-border transfer clauses.

• ​Conducts privacy impact assessments (PIAs), data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and risk analyses for new features and initiatives.

• ​Monitors and interprets changes in privacy, AI, and digital regulation to ensure proactive compliance.

• ​Develops and maintains internal policies, guidance documents, and playbooks related to privacy and product compliance.

• ​Collaborates with Security, Compliance, and IT teams on incident response, data governance, and user rights management.

• ​Provides privacy and product counseling across business units, including on marketing, analytics, cookies, and mobile technologies. ​

Basic Qualifications:

• ​6–9 years of legal experience, with a focus on product counseling and privacy law

• ​Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution; active bar membership in good standing

• ​Strong knowledge of global data privacy laws and regulatory frameworks

• ​Experience advising product and engineering teams within a technology company

• ​CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPT, or similar certifications preferred

• ​Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
