Product Engineer
AI Summary
Builds and owns full-stack solutions for an AI algorithm discovery platform, contributing to architectural decisions and shaping how users define, run, and observe AI-driven experiments.
About this role
Who we are
At Hiverge, our mission is to build algorithmic superintelligence: an AI discovery engine that automatically writes algorithms for the most critical optimisation problems.
Our founding team is composed of world-class researchers from Google DeepMind and University of Cambridge, having co-developed AlphaTensor, FunSearch, and Nobel-prize winning AlphaFold. At Hiverge, you will be working with the brightest minds in AI, algorithms, and mathematics.
If you’re passionate about AI and eager to shape transformative technologies, we’d love to hear from you.
About this role
We're looking for a versatile Product Engineer to help build the platform through which researchers and engineers discover optimal algorithms. You'll work across the stack, contributing to architectural decisions and shaping how users define, run, and observe AI-driven experiments. This role combines hands-on engineering with the opportunity to influence product direction as we scale.
You will:
Own full-stack solutions end to end. You’ll design, build, and operate systems across the stack: from front-end user experience to low-latency backend infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and customer teams to capture requirements and deliver production-ready solutions.
Build modular, maintainable UI components that feel seamless and fast.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience working as a software developer.
Proven track record of shipping user-facing products end-to-end, from database to UI.
Product mindset: able to contribute to product design, understand user requirements, and prioritise features.
Production experience with TypeScript, React and at least one backend language (Python, Golang, Rust etc).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
What sets you apart
Familiarity with AI agents or LLM-based systems.
Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and modern cloud infrastructure practices (AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes).
Experience with secure development practices and cloud security.
Experience contributing to open-source projects or maintaining community projects is highly valued.
We offer competitive compensation, generous benefits packages, and offer a stimulating work environment, with the opportunity to contribute to the future of generative AI.
