The Position

Product Manager, Lithium-Ion Batteries (LIB)

Job Summary

The Product Manager, Lithium-Ion Batteries (LIB) is responsible for supporting product planning, commercialization, and growth activities for the LIB segment.

Operating within the world’s most dynamic battery ecosystem, the Product Manager gathers and analyses customer requirements, monitors technical and technology trends, manages the current product portfolio, proposes/supports/develops new products and supports day-to-day cross-functional execution between Sales, R&D, and Operations.

The role is essential to accelerate execution of IGC LIB product roadmaps and to support the commercial scaling of newly formalized New Business Platforms in APAC.

Key strategic and operational objectives include:

• Support the execution of the LIB product strategy

• Gather, prioritize, and translate regional customer and technical requirements to align the local product portfolio.

• Partner closely with local Sales, R&D, and Operations to secure product availability, quality, and commercial readiness.

• Support operational activities, joint development initiatives, and partnerships with key Asian partners.

• Maintain and monitor pricing guidelines, market indicators, and commercial KPIs.

Education & qualifications:

• Engineering degree, Master's, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Electrochemistry, or a highly relevant technical field.

• An additional business, marketing, or strategic qualification (or business-related coursework) is highly valued.

Professional experience:

• 8 to 10 years of professional experience in Industrial Product Development, R&D, Technical Service, or Product Management.

• Prior exposure to the Lithium-Ion battery industry & technology

Skills & competencies:

• Technical Battery Knowledge: Solid understanding of battery materials and cell manufacturing processes.

• Commercial Mindset: Strong customer-driven orientation, ability to translate technical features into commercial value propositions.

• Analytical & Rigorous: Action-oriented with strong analytical capabilities, proficiency in Excel, data-driven reporting, and KPI tracking.

• Matrix & Communication Skills: Excellent communication, pedagogical, and teamwork skills; ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary and matrix teams.

• Languages & Intercultural Skills: Full professional fluency in English and Chinese

• Adaptability: Ability to prioritize tasks and work dynamically in a fast-paced environment.
