Production Coordinator

Company Description:

Liftsafe Group of Companies is a privately owned company that designs, builds, inspects and maintains lifting, material handling, and fall protection systems equipment.

Job purpose

The primary purpose of the Production Coordinator is to oversee the process and coverage for the fabrication shop, supporting the Microsoft Business Case process flow and group objectives. They will ensure project consumption is completed in a timely manner. They will identify and sequence the activities required to meet the project goals, and determine the resources needed to successfully complete the project. This position is posted due to a current vacancy.

Duties and responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities of the coordinator include, but are not limited to, the
following:

• Managing Assembly orders from creation to requisition material and posting once assembly
orders are complete.
• Help with inventory management, spot checks, ensure parts have bin locations and are
properly put into stock
• Support picklist completion
• Look at future demands and ensure we have materials to meet the demands to meet target
dates
• Notifying purchasing for all shop related consumables as required, gases, welding supplies,
paint related products, hardware, PPE
• Ensuring project consumption is completed (assemblies, non-vendor purchases) in a timely
manner
• Effectively communicate expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion.
• Working with the warehouse to communicate items needing to be picked from inventory
• Creating lists of products that need to be sent out to vendors, notifying purchasing and
shipping of these lists and the dates in which they are required ( i.e. powder coating,
galvanizing, machine shops)
• Entering the daily time sheet hours into the corresponding projects on BC.
• Purchasing and inventory control; working with purchasing to confirm which products from
the picklists are stock in inventory
• Assist with adjusting production timelines as required
• Ability to keep communication lines open between departments (warehouse, procurement,
QC, shop floor supervisors)
• Help to Identifying bottlenecks, material shortages and short falls before it becomes
problematic

Qualifications

• Possession of a post-secondary degree in business or equivalent working experience with a
demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers.

• Exceptional time management and organization skills:
o The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on communication skills (verbal /
written)
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• A background in industrial safety sales is an asset.

Working conditions

• Working near other co-workers.
• Background noise can be distracting at times – conversations, noise from fabrication/shop area, etc.
• This is an in-office/in-person position, not remote or hybrid

Physical requirements

• Sitting and typing for extended periods of time.
