Job Summary

This position operates production, filling, and/or packaging equipment efficiently and safely on the production and packaging line while maintaining quality and production standards and participating in all aspects of production work to produce Walden Farms products.

Essential Functions

• Ability to operate equipment on the production line/floor, as required
• The Packer’s primary responsibility is to accurately count and pack cases of products while ensuring product packaging meets company quality standards
• Maintain quality and production standards while operating equipment
• Possess overall knowledge and understanding of the entire production line
• Stack and unstack cases; pack boxes
• Inspect bottles, labels, and cases
• Communicate and understand numerous product changes, boxes, labels, etc. to the Production Supervisor
• Clean work area during shift and changeovers
• Participate in the general sanitation of the production space
• Maintain expected speeds to keep up with production demands
• Reports on food safety and quality issues to plant management and quality
• Follows all safety, GMP and quality requirements
• Works flexibly in various production and packing lines throughout the production floor as instructed by the floor supervisor
• Operates auxiliary machines and equipment, as required
• Follows process as specified to meet or exceed customer specifications
• Other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Education and Experience Required:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• A minimum of 1-2 years previous experience in a food manufacturing environment; packing, filling, blending, batch making or other food- or cosmetic-related experience a plus
• Familiarity with food quality and safety programs: HACCP; FSMA
