Position Purpose

A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that helps communities recover after disasters and gets children back in school. The position is full-time and is responsible for overall management and strategic development of the program to ensure efficient and effective delivery of the projects.


Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to International Response Manager
  • Roles reporting to position Project Manager, Operations Manager, Community Coordinator

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the successful operation and completion of the program as a whole.
  • Effectively onboard and manage a diverse staff team to meet the needs of the affected community and empower them to carry out their functions effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure the overall budget and timeline compliance of the program.
  • Supporting the operations and project teams to deliver their specific operational and project targets within the approved time and budget constraints.
  • Responsible for making sure All Hands & Hearts and program rules are adhered to and carrying out disciplinary procedures if needed.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review program emergency procedures and safety and security protocols
  • Oversees the delivery of weekly and monthly reporting for all aspects of the program
  • Ensure all program tracking systems are updated regularly and maintained
  • Work with local partners to foster collaboration
  • Lead in-country coordination with UN Cluster systems, government authorities, and NGO partners
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements for the program
  • Financial responsibilities include the development and operating of a program budget
  • Ensure the overall budget and timeline compliance of the program
  • Reconcile operational and project budgets to meet approved overall program budgets
  • Perform other duties as required.


Position Requirements

  • Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience in a relevant field.
  • Related Experience 2+ years experience working in a disaster response context, preferably with All Hands and Hearts. 1+ years experience in a role with project management responsibilities, including budget tracking and reporting. 2+ years experience managing a team.
  • Special Competencies/Certifications Excellent written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets and Microsoft Office. Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. Outstanding leadership and delegation skills. Able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast paced environment. Must have a sophisticated and developed management style. Familiarity with international humanitarian standards including Sphere and HAP.
  • Language Spanish and English fluency required.


Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Constantly works in outdoor adverse weather conditions
  • Frequently moves items weighing up to 40 lbs on work site or on base

  • Frequently travels to remote project locations
  • Living in communal environment
  • High stress situations in an immediate post-disaster environment with limited amenities


Compensation & Benefits

  • Typical starting salary is $2,050-$2,238 USD / month, and up to $2,425 USD / month for highly qualified candidates who have previous experience in this role.
