Get to Know the Role

We're looking for a Developer Education Specialist to join our Tech Learning team in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

You'll own the content that helps Grab's engineers find answers fast and stay productive on our internal

platforms. Working across TechDocs and the broader learning ecosystem, you'll set content standards, coordinate

with platform teams, and make sure documentation is complete, current, and actually usable.

You will be reporting to Manager II, Tech Learning

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Create and maintain technical documentation for internal platforms — API docs, developer guides, tutorials, and

knowledge base articles

• Set and enforce documentation quality standards across platform and engineering teams
• Work with platform engineers, PMs, and agents to keep docs current as platforms evolve
• Identify and close content gaps using signals from developer feedback, support queries, and usage data
• Structure technical content in ways that match how developers actually look for answers
• Manage the documentation lifecycle — planning, creation, review, publication, and deprecation
• Build lightweight templates and processes that make it easy for platform teams to self-serve documentation
• Coordinate documentation deliverables across workstreams, aligning releases, reviews, and publishing timelines
• Drive cross-functional alignment between content, engineering, and product on documentation scope and priorities
• Partner with the Proficiency workstream to turn technical content into learning paths and onboarding tasks
• Define success metrics for content quality and developer enablement; track and report on them
• Monitor content performance and feed insights into the content strategy and roadmap
• Mentor junior content contributors and raise the documentation bar across the team

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• 8+ years in technical writing, developer education, technical program management, or a related field
• Proven track record creating API docs, developer guides, and platform-focused content
• Strong command of Markdown, HTML, and documentation tooling (e.g., Hugo, Confluence, GitLab/GitHub)
• Experience with Git-based content workflows
• Ability to break down complex technical topics for different developer personas — backend, SRE, ML, mobile
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple content tracks simultaneously
• Experience coordinating deliverables and timelines across engineering and product teams
• Comfortable defining requirements, tracking progress, and surfacing blockers to stakeholders
• Collaborative working style with engineering and product teams
• Preferred: Experience in a developer platform or internal tooling context
• Preferred: Background in content strategy, information architecture, or developer community
• Preferred: Exposure to AI-assisted content workflows and documentation automation
• Preferred: Experience using analytics to improve content and measure developer engagement
• Preferred: Familiarity with technical program or project management (roadmaps, OKRs, cross-team coordination)
