Project Engineer (Electrical Systems)

The Job:

• Evaluate electronic designs that utilize lithium batteries in products.
• Conduct design reviews on technical documentation and electrical designs with a focus on system and product safety, quality, and best practices.
• Participate in all safety reviews, pull system-level safety concerns into module-level safety assessments, and conduct system Fault Hazard Analysis.
• Evaluate integration of platformed components and assemblies to ensure compatibility, functionality, and best practices.
• Detect and confirm critical test documentation where required and identify supplemental value-add requirements.
• Conduct system DFMEAs and product Hazard Fault Analysis with a viewpoint of the system as a whole and the interaction between individual products and/or subassemblies.
• Assist with defining and translating engineering technical requirements across software, electrical, and electromechanical disciplines based on product requirements.
• Liaise cross-organizationally to evaluate and address common issues.
• Create and maintain electrical systems engineering specifications and design guides.
• Cultivate and promote a common culture of concepts, terminology, and best practices throughout the wider organization.

The Person:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in Electronics Engineering or a related position required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of battery and charger technology and the interaction between the two.
• Lithium-ion battery management experience is a plus.
• Highly motivated self-starter with a strong focus on innovation, attention to detail, and product safety.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
