What You’ll Do

  • Support and/or lead client-facing hardware development projects from initiation to completion
  • Lead SOW development, cost/schedule estimation, and contract strategy
  • Partner closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and industrial design teams
  • Translate client needs into clear technical objectives, schedules, and deliverables
  • Manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resources in a dynamic environment
  • Communicate project status, risks, and next steps to internal teams and clients
  • Own the client relationship, drive client satisfaction, and work with clients to create win-win opportunities for growth
  • Help resolve technical, schedule, and interpersonal conflicts with a calm, solutions-oriented approach
  • Balance scope, cost, schedule, and performance tradeoffs
  • Develop a long-lasting relationship with clients, leading to diverse projects across product lines and product lifecycle
  • Thrive in environments with evolving client needs and figure-it-out requirements

Capabilities & Skills (Varies by role)

  • Understanding of hardware product development and system integration across mechanical, electrical, software, and industrial design domains
  • Ability to apply agile methodologies to both hardware and software development
  • Experience with embedded hardware and controls development (strong plus)
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly to engineers and clients
  • Experience managing technical risk, cost, schedule, and performance tradeoffs
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with evolving scope
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience working with tightly integrated multidisciplinary teams (professional or academic—Formula SAE, Solar Car, etc.)

Associate Project Manager Base Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000
Technical Project Manager / Product Manager Base Salary Range: $100,000 – $115,000
Senior Technical Project Manager / Product Manager Base Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000

Salary is dependent on experience, knowledge, and interview performance.

About Motivo

Motivo is looking for passionate Project and Product Managers across multiple experience levels to join our team. Projects move quickly, often weeks or months, not years, and require close collaboration between clients and tightly integrated, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
