Project Manager
AI Summary
Project Manager will own end-to-end delivery of Farseer implementations, including scope, budget, timeline, and client relationship from handoff to go-live.
About this role
Farseer is a fast-growing startup building an enterprise software stack from first principles. We aim to become the underlying database and operating system for every business-critical app, from financial planning and analytics to accounting and beyond. Farseer empowers humans to build enterprise software with the help of AI.
Over the next decade, we will rebuild the enterprise nervous system. We are starting with finance, a real-time collaborative planning and reporting platform that turns finance teams into proactive strategists. Once that foundation is solid, the same AI-native core will extend across the operational stack, reporting, supply chain management, manufacturing, procurement, revenue ops, and more.
Our mission is to build enterprise software that people enjoy using. No user-hostile screens. No bloated workflows. Just fast, intuitive tools that help teams solve real business problems.
What you'll do
As a Project Manager, you'll own the delivery of Farseer implementations with our customers from handoff to go-live. This is not a coordination role. You own scope, budget, timeline, and most importantly, the client relationship.
Own project scope, budget, and timeline from Sales handoff to go-live
Be the primary client contact throughout the engagement
Run project planning, status reporting, and escalation management
Identify and document scope changes and drive client sign-off before work begins
Hold the line between Principal Consultants, Implementation Consultants, and client stakeholders — you're the one making sure the right conversations happen at the right time
Manage risks actively — flag early, propose solutions, follow through
Maintain project documentation: plans, change logs, status reports, handoff notes
Work across multiple concurrent projects
What we're looking for
10+ years in project delivery, with a track record of running complex software implementations end-to-end. You've owned scope, budget, client, and delivery as the responsible person, and can talk through what went wrong as well as what went right.
You might come from:
Project management at an IT consultancy or enterprise software company
Delivery or engagement management at a SaaS vendor
Implementation PM at an ERP, CRM, or EPM company
What matters:
You can describe the scope, budget status, and current risks on every project you're running without looking anything up
You have had difficult conversations with clients about scope, delays, or misaligned expectations, and handled them without losing the relationship
You write clearly. Status updates, escalation notes, and change requests that people can act on without asking follow-up questions
You define what needs to happen on a project rather than waiting to be told
You have managed senior clients — CFO level or equivalent
Bonus
Exposure to FP&A, finance, or controlling. Useful context but not a requirement; strong PMs from ERP, CRM, HR tech, or BI implementation backgrounds pick up the domain on the job.
Experience on EPM, ERP, or BI implementations (SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Anaplan, Jedox, Prophix, Board)
This role is for you if:
✓ You know your projects well enough to give a status update unprompted, at any time
✓ You are comfortable telling a client that their request is out of scope
✓ You can run concurrent projects and keep each one moving
✓ You raise problems with a proposed solution attached
✓ You follow up without being asked
This role is NOT for you if:
✗ You think the consultants should update you, not the other way around
✗ You have managed projects where scope and budget were handled by someone else
✗ You need a detailed process framework before you can plan a project
✗ Client escalations make you uncomfortable
