We are seeking experienced Protective Relay Technicians for expanding Field Services Group with focus on projects in Ohio and midwest. Must have experience with protective relays, transformers, circuit breakers, power circuit breakers, metal-clad and enclosed switchers, power cables, substation equipment, motor control centers, medium voltage control, excitation equipment, and automatic transfer switches.Full-time position w/complete benefits and per diem travel expense.
LOCATIONS: Cincinnati OH.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
This is a field position and will require candidates to work in substations and customer locations throughout Ohio. Most travel is within driving distance.The company covers these travel expenses.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop the skills to provide technical capabilities for installing, adjusting, and troubleshooting relays.
Develop the ability to tests the following relays: Over current/voltage, Directional, Distance, Impedance, Sync Check, Loss of field, Reverse power, Multifunction relays.
Read associated schematics, internal, and external of the relay.
Develop the skills to communicate with RTS software.
Assists in writing functional test plans.
Participate in a training and development program to achieve a comprehensive knowledge of electrical fundamentals, electrical transmission and distribution equipment and its operation, and a high degree of skill in routine P&C functions.
Remain current on all safety and technical training.
Collect field data and perform arc flash studies, coordination studies and short circuit analysis.
Provide technical insight with regard to substation systems and electrical power systems
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years related experience in substations, experience in relay testing. Must have field experience.
Education: EET, Technical School
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
Ability to add, subtract, and divide all units of measure.
Ability to read company manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures; speak with poise and confidence, using correct English.
Licensures and Certifications: SEL or OEM Certified. NETA OR NICET encouraged.
Test Equipment: Must be proficient with commonly used test sets such as M400, Doble 6150, CMC-256, CMC-356, etc.
U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent resident status required.
Salary: DOE. Per diem travel expenses covered. Full benefits.
