At International SOS Government Medical Services, you'll support healthcare programs that improve patient care and operational readiness across the U.S. and internationally. As a Public Health Analyst, you’ll use epidemiology, statistical programming, and data analysis to support public health surveillance, infectious disease initiatives, and program assessment within a detention health services environment.

You’ll turn complex data and research into clear analysis, reports, presentations, and guidance while collaborating with public health and law enforcement partners and assessing program goals, progress, impact, and outcomes.

Work Arrangement & Schedule

• Work arrangement: Remote for candidates based in the Washington, DC area. Work is primarily remote; however, you may be asked to report to a designated Washington, DC worksite when requested.
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, excluding federal holidays. Core availability is required from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. EST. The remaining two work hours may be scheduled before or after core hours, or split between the two, subject to program management approval.
• Flexibility: Schedule changes may be required, and flexibility in work requirements is expected. Overtime is not authorized, and weekend work may not be used to make up flex time.
• Travel and emergency response: Travel may be required as directed based on program needs. There are no on-call requirements; however, you may be required to respond during an emergency activation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data collection, data management, surveillance, epidemiologic, and operational analyses using statistical programming and data interpretation.
• Support tuberculosis coordination and care activities, infectious disease surveillance, public health interventions, and special projects.
• Develop analytic reports, literature reviews, official guidance, and planning documents, and present scientific and public health information at interagency and national meetings.
• Collaborate with public health and law enforcement partners while assessing program goals, priorities, progress, impact, and outcomes.
• Mentor student volunteers supporting surveillance, program assessment, and process-improvement projects.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Master’s degree in public health epidemiology or a related analytical public health field.
• Professional background in epidemiology and at least one year of experience in public health practice.
• Proficiency in quantitative data analysis, statistical programming, data interpretation, and epidemiologic analysis using SAS.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Access for data collection, management, database building, and manipulation; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and electronic data systems.
• Knowledge of public health actions related to infectious diseases of public health significance, with strong professional and technical writing and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Privacy Act, and PII requirements related to confidential health information.
• Ability to meet applicable federal personnel security requirements, including an Initial Preliminary Favorable Fitness Determination and a Complete Favorable Fitness Determination upon completion of required background investigations.

Preferred

• Epidemiology experience associated with a correctional or detention health setting.

Compensation Disclaimer:
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
