Public School District Classification & Compensation Consultant

AlphaGov is seeking a Public School District Classification & Compensation Consultant for project-based engagements with K-12 districts, county offices of education, and related public education employers.

You will lead or support classification and compensation studies for certificated and/or classified staff, administrator market analyses, salary schedule design, and implementation recommendations. Ideal candidates have completed class/comp or administrator compensation studies for school districts or comparable public education agencies.

What you'll do:

- Lead or support classification and compensation studies for public school districts

- Review job descriptions, salary schedules, and organizational structures for certificated, classified, and/or administrative roles

- Conduct market surveys against peer districts and relevant labor markets

- Analyze internal equity, compression, and competitiveness

- Develop or revise job families, classifications, grades, and salary schedules

- Prepare fiscal-impact and phased implementation options

- Present findings to superintendents, boards, HR leadership, and employee groups as requested

- Contribute technical content to AlphaGov proposals and scopes of work

Requirements

• Required:
• - 5+ years compensation, classification, or HR consulting with meaningful K-12 / public education work
• - Direct experience completing class/comp or administrator compensation studies for school districts or comparable education agencies
• - Strong writing, presentation, and stakeholder facilitation skills
• - Advanced Excel or comparable tools

Nice to have: multi-district studies; collective bargaining / meet-and-confer familiarity; CCP or SHRM credential
