QA Lead, Data Integration - Remote 12 Month Contract

OVERVIEW

Reporting to Manager, IT Quality Assurance, the 12-month Contract position of QA Lead owns the quality assurance effort for a new enterprise data platform that integrates and consolidates data from multiple source systems, including SAP and CRM, into a single, centralized source on AWS. The QA Lead defines the overall test strategy, plans, and approach, with a strong focus on integration testing across source systems and end-to-end data validation to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of integrated data. This role provides direction to the QA Tester, oversees defect analysis and resolution across QA and Production environments, and establishes quality gates that support confident release decisions. The QA Lead produces detailed reports and metrics, tracking all testing efforts and communicating progress, risks, and results to stakeholders. A naturally curious and investigative mindset is essential to interrogate data, question anomalies, and drive issues to root cause. Their work is vital in delivering a reliable, high-quality data platform that aligns with organizational standards and business expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Test Strategy & Planning: Define and own the overall QA strategy, test plans, cases, and scenarios for the data integration platform, ensuring coverage across SAP, CRM, and the consolidated target.
• Integration Testing: Lead integration testing across source systems such as SAP and CRM, validating that data flows correctly between systems and into the consolidated platform.
• Data Validation: Design and oversee comprehensive data validation, reconciliation, and data-quality checks to confirm the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of integrated data. Investigate discrepancies with development partners to reproduce, isolate, and resolve data issues.
• Team Leadership: Provide direction and mentorship to the QA Tester, coordinate day-to-day testing activities, and ensure alignment on priorities and quality standards.
• Reporting & Quality Gates: Produce detailed reports and metrics and establish quality gates across QA and Production environments to support confident go/no-go release decisions.
• Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate test progress, coverage, risks, and results to project stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with project goals.
• Defect Management: Oversee defect analysis, triage, and resolution, working closely with development partners to ensure timely, high-quality fixes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including experience leading or coordinating testing efforts.
• Proven experience with integration testing across the following enterprise systems is required: SAP. CRM.S/$ HANA and Microsoft Dynamics.
• Hands-on experience with data validation, reconciliation, and testing of data integration, ETL, or data migration; experience with cloud data platforms (AWS) is an asset.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Strong experience in JIRA, Confluence, test management and data validation tools

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working Hours

• Covering the core hours of operation, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM local time, this is a Full-Time position, scheduled forty (40) hours per week, working not less than 37.5 hours per week.
• Extra or flexible hours, including occasional after-hours and weekend support, may be required.

ExpectedCompensation:

• An annual base salary in the range of $80,000 to $90,000.
• The salary range listed complies with the OntarioEmployment Standards Actand reflects a potential base salary range for this role. The actual salary offered will be determined within the range, and will depend on factors, such as the candidate’s unique qualifications, relevant experience, work location and expected contributions.
