About STATIK
STATIK is a fast-growing consumer electronics brand built around innovative charging and cable technology. With millions of units sold worldwide, STATIK products are trusted by customers across DTC, Amazon, and major retail channels in North America, Europe, and beyond.
STATIK moves fast, launches frequently, and holds itself to a high product standard. We don't just ship products — we build things people genuinely love using.
Quality is embedded in how we operate, not bolted on at the end. If you take pride in making sure nothing subpar leaves the factory floor, you'll fit right in.
Position Summary
The QC Inspector is STATIK's eyes on the ground in China. You own the inspection process from start to finish — attending factory visits, running functional and operational tests on consumer electronics products, and making sure everything that ships meets our quality standards.
You'll work closely with a US-based product and engineering team, reporting findings clearly and acting independently when it counts. This is not an entry-level role. We're looking for someone who knows what good looks like, isn't afraid to push back when it doesn't, and takes genuine pride in the work.
Key Responsibilities
Factory Inspection & On-Site Execution
•Conduct pre-delivery, in-line, and final inspections at factory locations across the Guangdong region, ensuring products meet STATIK’s quality benchmarks before shipment.
•Verify product and packaging against approved specifications, including dimensions, workmanship, accessories, labeling, and barcode accuracy.
•Apply AQL sampling standards to evaluate defect rates and make accept/reject decisions based on defined quality thresholds.
•Communicate directly with factory teams to clarify standards, request corrections, and confirm that issues from previous inspections have been resolved.
•Document inspection findings thoroughly, including photos, and file reports in the team’s shared systems in a timely manner.
Product & Functional Testing
•Perform functional and operational testing on consumer electronics products — including cables, chargers, power banks, car mounts, and tracking devices — using appropriate testing tools and procedures.
•Verify that products meet electrical performance, charging capability, and connectivity requirements as defined in product-specific test standards.
•Test special product features relevant to the STATIK line, such as magnetic coiling behavior, charging protocols, and tracker functionality.
•Escalate any test failures or anomalies to the QC Supervisor promptly, with clear documentation of findings.
Quality Standards & Spec Compliance
•Maintain and manage Golden Samples; use them as the reference benchmark for every inspection to validate finish, materials, and product accuracy.
•Identify and flag any deviations from approved spec sheets, golden samples, or packaging requirements before product is released for shipment.
•Stay current on product updates, new SKUs, and packaging changes to ensure inspections reflect the latest approved standards.
Reporting & Cross-Team Communication
•Produce clear, structured inspection reports after each factory visit and share findings with the QC Supervisor and relevant US-based stakeholders.
•Maintain organized records of all inspection activity, test results, and corrective actions in team systems (Google Drive, Asana, QC database).
•Communicate professionally in English with a remote, internationally distributed team; maintain sufficient daily overlap with US business hours.
Defect Management & Continuous Improvement
•Investigate root causes of product defects and work with factory teams to implement effective corrective actions.
•Track recurring issues across inspection cycles and escalate patterns to the QC Supervisor for systemic resolution.
•Contribute to the ongoing improvement of QC processes, checklists, and reporting standards as the product line evolves.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on QC inspection experience in consumer electronics, cables, chargers, or related hardware products.
- Solid working knowledge of AQL inspection standards and how to apply them in a factory setting.
- Demonstrated experience performing electrical and functional testing on charging products using industry-standard tools (PD power testers, GaN chargers, resistance meters).
- Ability to read and execute against product-specific spec sheets, golden samples, and technical QC checklists.
- Strong written and verbal English proficiency — sufficient to produce professional inspection reports and communicate independently with English-speaking teams in the US.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, Sheets) for documentation and file management.
- Based in or willing to be based in Dongguan; able to travel regularly within the Guangdong Pearl River Delta region (Shenzhen, Guangzhou, surrounding areas).
- Detail-oriented and confident enough to reject a shipment or escalate factory non-compliance without prompting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in DVT, NPI, or compliance certification processes (CE, RoHS, FCC, or similar)
- Experience working with or reporting to a US or international team across time zones
- Relevant certifications (ISO 9001, TS16949, PMP, or SCMP) are a plus
- Familiarity with project management tools (Asana or similar)
- Documentation: Google Drive, Google Docs/Sheets, Asana
- Experience with electrical testing / magnetic product testing
- Product categories: USB cables (USB-A, USB-C, Lightning), power banks, wall chargers, car mounts, Bluetooth trackers
Soft Skills
- High professional accountability — owns the inspection process end-to-end without needing to be micromanaged
- Clear, structured communicator in English — able to write professional inspection reports and escalate issues concisely
- Strong attention to detail — spots finish quality issues, logo errors, and dimensional deviations that others miss
- Proactive — identifies what the factory should correct before each visit, not only during it
- Collaborative — builds productive relationships with factory teams while representing STATIK’s standards firmly
- Adaptable — comfortable working across a fast-growing, remote-first company with shifting priorities
Work Environment & Travel
- Base location: Dongguan, Guangdong Province, China
- Hybrid — office/home-based when not at factory; on-site at factories during active inspections
- Monday to Friday schedule, with flexibility during active inspection periods or urgent shipment timelines
- Part of a global, remote-first team; strong async communication is essential
