Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly capable and proactive Quantity Surveyor (QS) to support the commercial delivery of major projects (Post Contract). This role requires an individual who can take full ownership of commercial workstreams, operate with minimal supervision, and produce high-quality, complete outputs aligned with client and project expectations.
The successful candidate must demonstrate initiative, accountability, and urgency, with the ability to independently drive commercial activities through to completion.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Management
Manage post-contract commercial activities across assigned projects.
Monitor project costs and budgets to ensure financial objectives are achieved.
Prepare and maintain cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Evaluate project risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation strategies.
Assist in achieving project profitability targets.
Contract Administration
Administer construction contracts in accordance with project requirements.
Interpret contractual obligations and provide commercial advice to project teams.
Prepare and manage contractual correspondence.
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company procedures.
Valuations and Payments
Prepare interim valuations and payment applications.
Participate in presentations of payment recommendations to the client team.
Manage payment schedules and ensure timely financial processing.
Change Management
Evaluate, and negotiate change.
Maintain comprehensive variation registers and supporting documentation.
Assess the commercial impact of changes on project budgets and forecasts.
Participate in presentations to explain change status and recommendations to the client team.
Cost Control and Reporting
Monitor actual project costs against approved budgets.
Prepare monthly commercial reports and management dashboards.
Identify cost overruns and implement corrective actions.
Track project commitments and expenditure.
Conduct earned value and performance analysis where required.
Claims and Final Accounts
Assist in preparing supporting documentation to defend and raise Claims.
Maintain detailed records to support entitlement and cost recovery.
Prepare and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
Stakeholder Management
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
Support project managers with commercial advice and reporting.
Participate in project meetings and provide commercial updates.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Professional membership or working towards membership of RICS, AIQS, CIOB, or equivalent.
Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, with proven experience at QS level, MENA experience is advantageous.
Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams independently.
Strong track record of delivering accurate, complete, and high-quality outputs.

Experience on large-scale international projects.
Middle East project experience.
Consultancy and/or contractor-side experience.
Experience in the administration/ management of FIDIC forms of contract.
