Queens Branch-Banking Department / Teller Section & Safe Deposit Box Section Associate (Teller)

Overview

Serve customers with all banking needs through accepting and processing daily customer deposits, withdrawals from accounts, sales of financial Monetary instrument, remittance transactions, RMB cash deposit and withdrawal and Foreign Currency Exchange.

Responsibilities

Customer Service (80%)

• Accept cash and check items for deposits.

• Verify identity and signatures of customers’ withdrawals from account.

• Perform cash checks for customers.

• Handle sales of financial Monetary instrument.

• Accept outgoing remittance transactions.

• Accept RMB cash deposit and withdrawal.

• Accept Foreign Currency Exchange.

• Input Daily 3K and up cash and check transaction records.

• Balance cash drawer daily (USD and CNY).

• Promote and cross-sell banking products to potential customers.

• Conduct remittance investigations and input outgoing remittance.

• Process all incoming payments credit to proper accounts in T24.

• Process checks returned items.

• Process checks on us return or repost request by ADM. Section.

• Process foreign check collection.

• Serve customers with friendly, warm and helpful attitudes at all times.

• Release the check hold for residential mortgage / loan payment.

• Create non-customer profile through RTO for Foreign Currency Exchange.

• Help to serve customers and verify their identity for accessing the safe deposit box area.

• Back up Safe Deposit Box section operation.

• Review Safe deposit box area camera for any suspicious weekly or bi-weekly.
• Backup in absence of the ADM. colleague for scan daily batch.

Compliance (20%)

• Understand, comply with and monitor the activities, if necessary, of all applicable laws and regulations regarding Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act currency transaction reporting, and suspicious activity reporting.

• Strictly comply with the BOC Global Service Standard & BOC NY Performance Evaluation.

• Report suspicious activities to Supervisor of the teller section.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Minimum 1 year of Banking experience.
• Demonstrate Safe deposit box operation knowledge.
• Bilingual ability in English and Mandarin required.

Pay Range

Actual salary is commensurate with candidate’s relevant years of experience, skillset, education and other qualifications.

USD $42,000.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
