Rubberatkins is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Testing Technician to join our Research & Development team in Aberdeen.


This is a workshop/control room role focused on supporting the development of innovative elastomer products through testing, particularly in high-pressure, high-temperature environments. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards by assembling test rigs, executing test procedures, and analysing results.

Working closely with the R&D Engineers, you’ll contribute to both product development and continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and build test rigs in line with technical drawings and procedures
  • Conduct testing in accordance with defined protocols
  • Accurately record and maintain test data and results
  • Assist in the development and improvement of test procedures
  • Collaborate with engineering and inspection teams on non-conformances
  • Investigate test failures and contribute to design improvements
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment in line with QHSE standards
  • Support ISO 9001 quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives



What We’re Looking For

  • A methodical approach with strong attention to detail
  • Experience in pressure testing
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems (desirable)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Practical problem-solving skills in an engineering environment
  • Competence with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with SCADA systems (desirable)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work shifts



Qualifications -

  • NQ / HNC / HND (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline


This role will cover a two shift pattern, 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm, rotating on a weekly basis.
