AI Summary

A React Native Engineer builds and ships new features in Gimi’s mobile app, working closely with product and design to deliver the weekly allowance system and other real-money flows for teaching kids and teens financial habits.

About this role

Gimi

We're a small team building the financial infrastructure banks use to teach kids and teens how to handle money — real accounts, real payments, real habits. As a React Native Engineer you'd be joining our mobile team at a point where the work is concrete and shipping fast: right now that means our end-to-end allowance system — the weekly pocket money flow that runs for thousands of families, from parent setup to the ledger that tracks every transfer.

What you'd actually be doing

  • Building and shipping features in our React Native app — not just maintaining, actual new product surface

  • Working closely with the person next to you (product, design, or another engineer) rather than waiting for a spec to land

  • Making real calls on tradeoffs — e.g. when an edge case in a recurring payment flow breaks, deciding how much complexity to absorb quietly vs. surface to the user

  • Using AI tools as a core part of how you build — from scoping to shipping — not as an occasional shortcut

  • Writing code your teammates can pick up without you needing to explain it in Slack afterward

What we're looking for

  • You've shipped real React Native apps to production — show us, don't just tell us (a GitHub link, an app you've worked on, whatever proves it)

  • You're comfortable with JS/TypeScript and can hold your own around Node

  • You already build with AI tools day to day and have a real opinion on where they help and where they don't — this matters more to us than most other lines on this list

  • You can explain a technical decision you made and why, including one you'd make differently now

Nice to have

  • Native iOS or Android experience

  • CI/CD experience

  • Firebase

  • Fintech, or any regulated/compliance-heavy industry

To apply

Skip the generic cover letter — instead, tell us about a bug or technical problem you found genuinely satisfying to solve, and what made it hard.
