Role Summary
The Recovery Support Specialist helps maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for individuals in recovery. The position combines resident supervision, documentation, transportation, admissions/discharges support, behavioral coaching, and compliance monitoring.
Core Responsibilities
- Monitor resident safety, security, and accountability.
- Build positive relationships with residents.
- Complete resident counts and facility check.
- Write incident reports, shift reports, and daily logs.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and resident orientation.
- Conduct investigations and communicate findings.
- Collect urine drug screens.
- Perform facility, property, and personal searches.
- Monitor medication distribution.
- Process resident mail, requests, and property.
- Transport residents to appointments, work sites, and court appearances.
- Reinforce positive behaviors and address behavioral concerns.
- Participate in staff meetings, debriefings, and training.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Active CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant) certification, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire. TPC Wellness will provide assistance.
- Ability to apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles and recovery-focused program practices.
