Summary

Huntington Bank is seeking a Regional Communications, Associate Director to develop and execute strategic communication plans for select regions within Huntington Bank’s footprint. The Associate Director will provide strategic leadership as the corporate communications lead within their portfolio of regions, guiding messaging and fostering alignment with enterprise-wide initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic communication plans and manage communication programs and initiatives that increase awareness and engagement among external stakeholders, including media, clients, partners, and communities.
• Secure regional news coverage that tells a consistent and holistic story about Huntington’s brand, business priorities, and initiatives.
• Collaborate across Corporate Communications, Regional Marketing, and other teams to generate compelling content that engages colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Draft, manage, and distribute internal and external communications, including news, organizational announcements, corporate developments, and crisis management through a variety of internal and external media.
• Develop communication briefs, executive summaries, talking points, video scripts, presentations, and frequently asked questions.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of enterprise and local initiatives to foster effective collaboration and ensure strategic alignment across regions.
• Develop and execute LinkedIn content strategies for key regional executives, creating content that strengthens executive presence, enhances Huntington’s reputation, and supports key business priorities and initiatives.
• Provide media training and executive communications coaching to business leaders, preparing and supporting spokespersons for media interviews, public appearances, presentations and other high-profile communications opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years of corporate communications experience
• Bachelor's Degree in communications, public relations or journalism

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Strong leadership and executive presence
• Must be able to understand complex concepts and translate them for a wide variety of internal and external audiences.
• Must have extensive experience with North Carolina and South Carolina-based media.
