A Registered Behavior Technician is a paraprofessional who can work directly with students who have significant behavioral and/or instructional needs including students who require daily implementation of a crisis management plan; require complex verbal behavior programming; and/or extensive data collection, graphing, and analysis.

  • The RBT is responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services including instruction and behavioral support.
  • The RBT practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BC-ABA and/or BCBA.

To be successful in this role – you must meet all of the following expectations:

  • Complete RBT certification requirements and apply for the exam within 6 weeks (online training, live competency & exam)
  • Travel at least up to 40 minutes
  • Work in the school, home & community settings to fulfill program needs. *Non-school hours under H&CS program
  • Availability for school day, afternoon & evening hours. Some weekends based on client authorization. *Non-school hours under H&CS program
  • Attend required supervision
  • Maintain RBT certification as mandated by the BACB
  • Current certification in both CPR/First Aide and Safety Care Training (De-escalation, and Escorts & Restraints)

Requirements

  • Credentials and trainings in compliance for current service role (BHT, PCA, Para)
  • Paperwork and BHT supervision attendance in good standing (supervision required for BHTs)
  • Work a minimum of 10 hours/week of billable services
  • Minimum 2 months of service with CCRES. 6+ months employment - preferred
  • Worked a minimum of 1 year directly with individuals with special needs – preferred
