Tasks
The Role
Reporting to the Responsible Individual, the Registered Manager will:
- Complete the Ofsted registration as the named Registered Manager.
- Lead the opening and day-to-day management of a solo children's home supporting a young person with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Recruit, mentor and develop a dedicated staff team.
- Embed trauma-informed, child-centred practice throughout the home.
- Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding legislation.
- Build positive relationships with local authorities and external professionals.
- Lead Ofsted inspections and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience within children's residential care.
- Previous Registered Manager experience, or be an experienced Deputy Manager ready to register with Ofsted.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or be working towards it within the required timeframe).
- Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
- A proven ability to lead, motivate and retain a successful team.
- Experience opening a new children's home or working within a solo provision would be advantageous but is not essential.
