Job Description

The Registered Nurse - Advanced Valve, under the supervision of the physician or nurse practitioner, performs medical assistant specific tasks. Greets patients, activates files and prepares patients as needed to move patient through their clinic appointment. Measures and monitors vital signs; performs other duties as required.

Education

High School Diploma or GED is required.

Experience

One year of experience in a clinical setting is required.

Certification & Licensures

Registered Nurse licensure in state of Virginia is required.

CPR/BLS certification is required within six months of hire and bi-annually thereafter.

Qualifications

Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills necessary for interaction with patients, visitors and staff required.

Multi-tasking skills necessary for performing day to day functions in a stressful, dynamic work environment required.

Ability to function independently and as a team member required.

Ability to be flexible, dependable and promote a professional image required.

Ability to maintain confidentiality required.

Knowledgeable in cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological states of human growth and development required.

Competent to provide assessment, care and treatment appropriate to the age group of the patients served required.
